The Vice Chancellory International Affairs of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) has four (4) units that perform the following functions:

International Mobility Unit

Objective: Develop and promote international mobilities in favor of teaching, research and culture for the benefit of our University Community (students, professors, researchers, administrative personnel and alumni) with Universities, International Organizations and other entities that collaborate with the internationalization of education and development.

Functions:

  • To identify calls for proposals and funding opportunities for university mobility activities (scholarship offers for students, faculty and administrative staff).

  • Participation in consortium for exchanges with European and Latin American Universities.

  • Promotion of scholarship opportunities abroad.

  • Advising on mobility procedures for professors, students and administrative staff to participate in international programs.

Directorate of International Cooperation

Objective: To articulate and manage international relations and international cooperation for the strengthening and internationalization of UNAH, promoting the university's participation in international academic cooperation projects and programs.

Strategy:

  • Promote strategic alliances with universities and international institutions that have a recognized trajectory through the management of agreements that will strengthen research, academic exchange, and UNAH's institutional strengthening.

  • Promote an institutional policy for the management of financial and technical resources to strengthen the academic work of the university.

  • Increase the degree of visibility and prestige of UNAH by taking advantage of convergence spaces of university networks, congruent with the priorities and work of UNAH.

Functions:

  1. Advise processes that make more efficient the management of International Cooperation.

  2. Identification of calls and funding opportunities for international cooperation projects.

  3. Advise and assist the units in the design, management and execution of international cooperation.

Regulation and Academic Networks Unit

Objective: The International Agreements Unit is in charge of liaising, managing and providing advice to the different academic units of the university as well as to external agents interested in signing them. It is also responsible for coordinating compliance, evaluating and promoting their use.

Functions:

  • Promote and follow up on International Cooperation Agreements on topics of academic interest.

  • Promote international inter-university collaboration activities within the framework of bilateral and multilateral agreements.

Planning and Monitoring Unit

Objective: It is the unit in charge of preparing the annual budget of the office and verifying its compliance. It also supports the other units in the communication and dissemination (internal and external) of different cooperation opportunities, as well as the follow-up and periodic monitoring of agreements, projects, mobility programs, networks and other forms of cooperation with international institutions or organizations.

Functions:

  • Operationalize the monitoring of international cooperation projects or programs under implementation.

  • Support the office’s units by facilitating the process of dissemination of the progress and scope of international cooperation initiatives in execution.
