Dr. Professor Marco Tulio Medina

Vice Chancellor of International

Vice Chancellor of International Affairs since February 2022, renowned Honduran neurologist and scientist, graduated from the Medical School of the National Autonomous University of Honduras, UNAH. He specialized in Neurology at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Mexico, studied Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Aix-Marseille in France and he did post-doctoral studies in Pediatric and Adult Epileptology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He obtained the approval of Master Philosophy to PhD at the University College of London (UCL). He served as Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) and founded in 1998 the postgraduate course in Neurology at UNAH with the support of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN). Due to his contribution in medicine, he was awarded as a Knight of the Legion of Honor by President Emmanuel Macron of the Republic of France. He has worked with major international organizations in education and research.

He is the Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Community Epilepsy Research and Intervention, and Regional Director for the Americas of the World Federation of Neurology (WFN). Dr. Medina is a member of the European Academy of Neurology (FEAN); member of the American Neurological Association (FANA); member of the American Neurological Association (FANA); member of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN); Fiscal of the Honduras Global Foundation and is on the editorial board of the international scientific journals “The Journal of the Neurological Sciences”, “International Journal of Stroke”, “International Journal of Epilepsy” and “Open Epilepsy”.
